Looking to do something new and really wild once COVID restrictions ease? How about getting tickets for Santa Fe-based Meow Wolf’s second permanent location, Omega Mart, in Las Vegas, Nevada? Tickets go on sale January 19, 2021, with a planned opening in early 2021. This new venue has already gotten lots of buzz from sources like Travel + Leisure, Lonely Planet, and Conde Nast Traveler. While the original Santa Fe location is centered around a Victorian home’s many rooms and a mystery to solve, Omega Mart takes you deep into the strangest grocery story you’ve ever visited!
According to a press release, “Omega Mart will be an eye-popping shopping experience where all products have an uncanny ability to fulfill desires beyond expectation. Through elevated narrative and technical elements spanning 52,000 square feet, Las Vegas marks Meow Wolf’s highly anticipated second permanent installation and the company’s most ambitious project to date. Omega Mart will be unlike anything visitors have seen before, with an even richer storyline than Meow Wolf’s previous installation in Santa Fe, the THEA Awarding-winning international sensation House of Eternal Return. The team behind Meow Wolf Las Vegas is working with hundreds of creatives on staff and more than 50 collaborating visual and musical artists and artist groups from all over the world, including local Las Vegas residents like Eric Vozzola, and world-renowned artists like Amon Tobin, Shrine, and Claudia Bueno, to create a one-of-a-kind grocery store experience that will anchor AREA15.”
The Meow Wolf website explains, “AREA15 is a bold, new development project located a short distance from the Las Vegas Strip. It’s a wholly re-imagined world weaving together immersive experiences, themed events, art installations, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. Working with international and local artists, AREA15 has created a one-of-a-kind entertainment and retail experience.”
