The Doña Ana Arts Council’s (DAAC’s) arts and cultural center gallery will be open for extended hours on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 12 noon to 5:00 p.m.  The January exhibit in the gallery features the work of local painter and mixed media artist, Linda Gendall.  Her exhibit, titled “New Mexico Retrospective”,  until January 28th, 2021.  Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday

In Linda Gendall’s own words, here is a statement about her exhibit:

We moved to the Mesilla Valley in 2002 where I discovered the unique culture of the border area and the brilliant light of the southwest.  I took a painting workshop from the Painters Guild and once I sniffed that oil paint, I was hooked!  In 2005, I started painting in my own studio.  In the years after that, my passion for oil painting has blossomed!!  I am continually fascinated with the play of light and color, of reflections and shadows.  My life in the border region is a continual inspiration.
