The Way Out West Fest brings the best of Country culture to Southwest University Park, Saturday, October 2, 2021. El Paso’s premiere Country music festival begins at 5 p.m., with four top country music artists Cody Johnson, Randall King, The Powell Brothers and Graycie York performing live. Also included are a Texas chili challenge, a Best Margarita Contest, an outdoor dance floor, retail and food vendors and so much more.

A former bull rider, country music artist Cody Johnson is a force to be reckoned with, which makes him the perfect choice as headliner for this event. Known for his explosive live shows and electrifying stage presence, Johnson has established a following of passionately loyal fans who regularly sell out shows across the country and have helped him accumulate more than two billion streams worldwide.

One of country’s new crop of modern traditionalists, Randall King has never lived outside the endless plains of West Texas – and his sound is steeped in their timeless beauty, both gritty and graceful at the same time. With over 80+ million career streams to his name and more new music on the horizon, King is looking to the anywhere-and-everywhere future with music that captures the essence of a Western poet who’s never been afraid to be himself.

With a unique blend of genres thoughtful lyrics and superb musicianship, American Country duo The Powell Brothers, fronted by Taylor and Blake Powell, have garnered a very diverse following, being featured at major music festivals across the country. Texas native Graycie York is the fourth and final artist of The Way Out West line up. The singer/songwriter has quickly made a name for herself in the Texas music scene and her classic country sound will be the perfect kick off at this year’s event!

For the Country foodies out there, the WOW Chili Cook-Off serves up spicy competition with the Southwest’s best chili cooks battling it out for top prizes and bragging rights. Meanwhile, bartenders from across the Southwest compete in the WOW Margarita Shake-Off, with entries judged on flavor, presentation and creativity. All margaritas will be for sale in the margarita tent, where patrons can vote for their favorite. Tickets for this flavorful Country event are $40 general admission, $60 floor seating.
