Mesquite Historical Preservation Society presents its 5th Annual Pachanga charity event, at Klein Park, Saturday, October 16, 2021, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. This community-centered cultural event serves to showcase, promote, and build long-lasting relationships within the community and businesses of the Mesquite Historical District. It’s also loads of fun for the entire family!
The day begins with a blessing and raising of the colors by the Marine Corps League and Las Cruces Fire Department, followed by a proclamation by the City of Las Cruces, and introductions by emcee Magic Mike and guest emcee New Mexico State Senator Carrie Hamblen. The National Anthem will be performed by Orlando-Antonio Carrillo-Jiménez.
The highlight, of course, is the Classic Car & Bike Show, but also included are ballet folklorico dancers, carriage rides, a bike rodeo, performances by HD2 Dancers & Dance Connection, live music from Toni Bueno, Prime the Band, Ziggy Lovah, and Latin Funktion. Then there are the various raffles, drawings, and contests, for those who are feeling lucky.
Enter the Pinup Girl contest or come in your best dress and enter the contest to find out who the Best Dressed Pachuco & Pachucas are. Watch airbrush ninja Luis Navarro and street artist Bobby Blvd create amazing works of art. Have a drink in the beer garden, with refreshing beverages provided by Little Toad Creek. Visit the Kids Zone, with games sponsored by the City of Las Cruces Parks & Recreation Department. Food, arts and crafts, and information vendors will also be on hand.
