Calling All Creative Minds in Las Cruces!
It’s time to mine for comedic gold, Las Cruces! The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) invites you to show off your creativity in the return of the Name a Snowplow Contest. It’s your chance to give our hardworking snowplows names that are as unique and vibrant as the Mesilla Valley itself!
Don’t Let These Winter Heroes Go Nameless!
These snowplows are winter heroes, ensuring New Mexico’s roads remain safe and our communities connected during icy storms. By naming them, you’re not only celebrating their importance but also putting a bit of Las Cruces’ spirit on display for the whole state to see.
How to Enter the Contest
Entering is as simple as a sunny day in the Land of Enchantment:
- Visit the NMDOT website.
- Submit your most creative, winter-themed, or New Mexico-inspired name.
- Hit submit before Friday, December 20, 2024, at noon.
Submission Rules
- Each person can submit one name only.
- Names are limited to 20 characters (including spaces).
- Keep it clean and respectful — no vulgar, profane, or inappropriate language.
- This contest is strictly nonpartisan — no politically inspired names.
- Names used in 2024 are not eligible for this year’s contest.
What Happens Next?
The NMDOT Communications team will review all submissions and select the most creative and inspiring names. Then, New Mexicans will vote for their favorites.
The top 12 names will be assigned to snowplows across the state, with winners celebrated and announced statewide.
