Affectionately known as SOS . . . “Same Ole Stuff,” this old-time favorite smothers a slice of toast with creamed chipped beef gravy and is best eaten with a fork.

Cinnamon Sugar

This one is more for those with a bit of a sweet tooth. Use a 30 to 70 percent mix of cinnamon to sugar and sprinkle over toast after butter is melted.

Cream Cheese

While many may like this simple topping, add your favorite jam or jelly to take this to the next level. This delightful combination easily works as a mid-morning snack.

Breakfast in One

Take your pick of the basic breakfast sandwich: bacon and egg, sausage and egg, egg and cheese, etc., and put it on toast.

Cheese Toast

Pick a cheese, any cheese (cheddar, provolone, Muenster, Monterey jack) you can’t go wrong, but to really mix it up add your favorite vegetable.

Dip It

This may be the most odd morning ritual, but a surprising number of us dip our toast. Try putting your toast in your morning coffee, tea, milk, soda, or juice.
