Anthony Moreno, the longtime “Morning Edition” host on 90.7 FM and krwg.org, has been named the new content director for KRWG Public Media.
“Anthony brings a ton of enthusiasm, new ideas, and experience to the position. Finding such a highly qualified candidate for this crucial role will undoubtedly benefit listeners and viewers in the region,” says Adrian Velarde, general manager of KRWG Public Media.
KRWG Public Media is a significant and trusted resource for a wide range of news, cultural, and entertainment programming that serves southern New Mexico and Far West Texas.
“The most exciting thing is to serve our community in a new role. I’ve reported and produced feature news stories and interviewed people in communities we serve,” says Anthony Moreno, “so having the chance to drive programming that helps amplify voices that need to be included in our public discourse is something I’m very passionate about.”
Anthony assumes the role of content director on February 21, 2022.
KRWG Public Media did not have to look far to find a replacement for its “Morning Edition” host. The new host will be a voice already familiar to listeners.
“We are excited to announce that KC Counts will move from her afternoon hosting duties of ‘All Things Considered’ to ‘Morning Edition’ as of February 14,” says Adrian. “KC brings an energy level that will change the local sound of KRWG Public Media during ‘Morning Edition,’ much in the same way she did for ‘All Things Considered.’”
Prior to her move to KRWG Public Media, Counts spent over 15 years as the morning DJ for 101 Gold (KVLC-FM Las Cruces, NM).
“As we continue to navigate difficult, uncertain times, I am honored and humbled to begin each day with Morning Edition and the wonderful listeners who make it all possible on KRWG Public Media,” says Counts.
“Morning Edition” airs Monday through Friday, 6-9 a.m. and “All Things Considered” Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m. on 90.7 FM and krwg.org.
