The University Art Museum at Devasthali Hall at NMSU presents The Colored Museum, by the Be Group, Fridays, February 4 & 11, 2022, 7 p.m. Written by George C. Wolfe and presented by the Be Group, The Colored Museum consists of 11 satirical “exhibits” of African-American culture – from the depths of the Celebrity Slave Ship to the spinning heights of Harlem. The Colored Museum has electrified, discomforted, and delighted audiences of all colors, redefining our ideas of what it means to be black in contemporary America. Its eleven “exhibits” undermine black stereotypes old and new and return to the facts of what being black means. This event is free to the public. Call 575-646-2545 for more information.
