Mesilla Valley Pharmacy announces its downtown Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Block Party, Saturday, October 16, 2021, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Come out and help celebrate the opening of the city’s newest locally owned and operated pharmacy at 227 S. Main St. in Las Cruces. With music and entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, and food trucks, the event introduces the latest downtown business in grand style. The emphasis here is on “local.”
“We really wanted to highlight local entrepreneurs and get the community together, because Las Cruces is really important to us,” said organizer Jade Bergstrom Acevedo. “The owners were all born and raised here as well as the rest of the staff. The main pharmacist, Joaquin Acosta, is a first-generation American, born and raised here. He’s very passionate about serving the people of Las Cruces. He was an Aggie and a Lobo. He was also Pistol Pete for a couple years.”
The all-day event will feature music from 101 Gold, with DJ NeoKiddd, DJ Woadie, and Johnny G. While you’re there, pick up local art, apparel, accessories, gifts, CBD, and more. Hungry attendees can sidle up to food trucks from Los Corrales, Sweet Laney’s, and Frencesca’s Italian. And, because MVP is a pharmacy, there will be free COVID-19 vaccines for those who haven’t gotten theirs yet.
Also included is a raffle to benefit Casa de Peregrinos. “The vendors are each donating an item to be the prize and 100 percent of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated,” Jade said.
