Doña Ana Arts Council Announces Summer Camps for Kids - LasCruces.com

As the pandemic wanes in our part of the country, the Doña Ana Arts council has announced three returning popular summer camps for kids. If you’re like most Americans, you’re driving your kids crazy after a year of forced home-schooling. They need a break as much as you do.

Career Art Path, a two-week event that allows thirty 5th to 8th grade students to explore art-related careers through hands-on activities and speakers, will run June 14-25, from 8:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day. Registration deadline is May 24.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre, a one-week theater camp for 60 young actors from first to 12th grades, will run July 6-10, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day. Registration deadline is June 15.

Opera Storyteller’s Camp, a two-week experience open to students, 3rd thru 12th grades, who will learn how to compose, perform and learn technical aspects of the genre, will run July 19-30. Registration deadline is June 15.

Applications are available online. Partial scholarships are available for each program. Contact the Dona Aña Arts Council at 575-523-6403 or via the website for more information. These camps will follow COVID-guidance for the state of New Mexico.
