One of the biggest draws of the Fall season is the Mesilla Valley Maze in Fairacres, September 25 through October 31, 2021. A family tradition since 1999 and considered the oldest giant corn maze in the state, it features a wide range of attractions that are good old-fashioned fun for the entire family. The Mesilla Valley Maze is open to the public every weekend from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
Created by the Lyles family, the maze provides a traditional family experience, while also showing children how important agriculture is to their lives. “Agriculture-based education has been an important part of the operation ever since I started it,” said owner Anna Lyles. “Farming is our family tradition, and it’s something that every generation should understand and enjoy.”
Highlights of this rustic event include the 5-acre Giant Corn Maze, filled with twisting pathways and fun activities; and the Pumpkin Patch, where you can pick a pumpkin right from the vine. Part game, part educational tool, the maze is 100% fun, but getting the opportunity to peruse the pumpkin patch for just the right pumpkin is a Fall tradition not to be missed. Or you can stop by Pumpkin Junction to browse a selection of pre-picked pumpkins, hay bales, corn stalks, scarecrows, goards and more!
Included in the admission price are over 30 activities, including two escape rooms, flower fields, 5 giant slides, ring games, whisper tubes, mini pedal carts, Papa’s Playground, the Mystic Walk, a wide range of musical entertainment and, of course, the maze itself. For youngsters who aren’t quite ready for the big maze, a mini maze is also offered. Extra activities, like face painting, gem mining, rope making, and rubber duck races are an additional fee. Admission is $15 for adults, $12 for kids under 12 and free for children 2 years and under. For more information, visit the website, or call 575-526-1919.
