1700º Steak House Opens In El Paso - LasCruces.com

Hotel Paso del Norte has opened the doors to its signature restaurant, 1700º Steak House, the final link in the chain of a multi-million-dollar renovation of the historic 118-year-old hotel. The restaurant has drink and dining options that capture the distinct flavors of El Paso. The offerings at the 1700º Steak House include aged USDA prime beef, fresh seafood, and an extensive selection of appetizers, side dishes, and desserts, along with a broad selection of world-class wines, local and national craft beers, and handcrafted cocktails.

“We are serving the best of El Paso with a culinary scene inspired by the many influences that have shaped this region’s cuisine,” said Chef Andy Ribelin, an El Paso native whose grandfather was a chef at the city’s International Club in the 1950s. “El Paso is not Tex-Mex, rather a culmination of Mexican, Southwestern, and American culinary styles combined with the region’s ample bounty of meat and produce. It’s a fusion of flavors like nowhere else.”

Since re-opening in October, Hotel Paso del Norte has welcomed drink and dining enthusiasts with pre-prohibition style cocktails in its famous Dome Bar and regional dining specialties at Sabor. The opening of El Mirador Rooftop Bar in March brought a new dynamic to the property with specialty cocktails, tapas, and live entertainment. On April 26, Dulce, the hotel’s bakery café and gelateria opened. Now, the hotel’s signature restaurant 1700º Steak House is open for business, offering a “culinary tip of the hat” to local cuisine. Dining reservations for 1700° can be made here.
